Reel Good Time

Summer in Cincinnati does not require a ticket, a reservation, or a plan made more than a few hours in advance. From late June through mid-July, parks and public spaces across the metro are rolling out free outdoor movie nights — on lawns, in amphitheaters, and along the waterfront — and the only thing you actually need to bring is something to sit on. Whether you are looking for a Tuesday night in OTR with a cold drink in hand, a Friday in the suburbs where the kids can run around before the opening credits, or a low-key Wednesday in a neighborhood you have never explored, there is something on this list for you. Here is a rundown of every outdoor movie event happening near Cincinnati over the next 30 days.

The best part about all of this is that most of it costs nothing. Pack a blanket, grab food from somewhere nearby, and let the evening take care of itself. A few things worth keeping in mind before you head out: all of these events are weather dependent, so check each venue's social channels on the day of, and film titles are always subject to last-minute changes. When in doubt, a quick look at the venue's website or Facebook page before you leave the house will save you a trip. The Cincinnati summer is short — might as well spend part of it outside watching a movie under the sky.
