Punk and Circumstance

This weekend, Cincinnati will host Punkzilla Fest at Bellevue Pavilion on July 11 and 12. The event brings together two days of punk bands, local vendors, food trucks and a community-driven atmosphere rooted in DIY music culture.

Behind the Music

Located just off the University of Cincinnati’s main campus, Bellevue Pavilion will fill with fast riffs, raw vocals and an audience that supports independent music. The space does not include VIP sections or traditional barriers. It is designed for direct connection between bands and attendees. Amps, gear, and setup will reflect the event’s grassroots approach, and the crowd will reflect the diversity of the punk scene.

Admission is free. No ticket, no age restriction, no cover. The goal is to welcome anyone with an interest in punk music or local culture.

The Lineup

Friday, July 11
The music starts at 4 PM with Inether, Sabon and Jesus of Hamartia. Misunderstood, a local band active since 2006, will also perform. The Fliplighters, Silk Tongue and Wasted Society round out the evening.

Saturday, July 12
Performances begin earlier, at 2 PM. The second day includes Dust By Monday, Wheat Croft Drive, San Francisco Zodiacs and additional acts. Bands will cover multiple styles within punk, from post-hardcore to power pop.

Festival organizers may announce more acts closer to the event. Updates will be posted on Punkzilla’s social media pages.

Between performances, attendees can browse merchandise tables featuring zines, records, shirts and patches. Most vendors are connected to the local music scene and often play in bands themselves.

Food trucks will be on site with a mix of options for both meat eaters and vegans. Drink vendors will also be present. Many accept cards, but cash is recommended.

Punkzilla is open to all ages and all levels of familiarity with punk music. The event regularly attracts longtime fans, first-time showgoers and students from nearby campuses. It is designed to be inclusive and community-based.
