Pints to the Paranormal: Fall Adventures on the Brewing Heritage Trail

As the leaves start to turn and the air gets a little crisper, Cincinnati’s Brewing Heritage Trail is gearing up for a series of fall events that promise a perfect blend of history, fun, and—of course—local brews. Whether you’re a seasoned trail walker or a newcomer curious about Cincinnati’s rich brewing past, there’s something for everyone this season. Let’s dive into the exciting lineup!

Pint Night Fundraiser at FigLeaf Brewing Co.

Date: Tuesday, October 15
Time: 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM
Location: 3387 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd

What’s better than enjoying a local craft brew? Knowing that your pint is doing good! Head to FigLeaf Brewing Co. on October 15 for their Pint Night Fundraiser, where $1 from every pint sold goes toward supporting the non-profit behind the Brewing Heritage Trail. Representatives from the trail will be there from 5 PM to 8 PM to chat about the latest projects, and you can even enter a raffle to win tour tickets. Oh, and don’t forget to say hi to Brewster, the pig mascot, who will be lounging around the taproom. It’s the perfect excuse to grab a beer and support a great cause!

Fall Darkside of Brewing Tours

If you’re in the mood for something a little spookier, the Fall Darkside of Brewing Tours is where you’ll want to be. These special, limited-edition tours will take you through some of Cincinnati’s darker brewing history, with stories of grave robbing, serial killers, and other macabre events. As the tour winds through hidden, overgrown streets and forgotten breweries, you’ll explore places like the Imperial Theater and the Jackson Brewhouse—both normally off-limits to the public. October tours are nearly sold out, so don’t wait too long to grab your spot!

Findlay Market & Brewing Heritage Trail BLINK Beverage Booth

Dates: Thursday, October 17 - Sunday, October 20 (Evenings)
Location: Findlay Market South Parking Lot

BLINK is back, and this year the Brewing Heritage Trail is teaming up with Findlay Market to offer a mobile bar experience. As you stroll through the market and check out the new art installations, stop by the booth to grab a locally crafted beer. Not a beer person? No worries—they’ve got water too! It’s all part of a fundraiser for the trail and Findlay Market, so you can feel good about sipping your drink while soaking up the BLINK festivities.

The New Brewing Heritage Trail App Is Live!

In case you haven’t heard, the Brewing Heritage Trail has gone digital! The new app is now available for free on both the App Store and Google Play, making it easier than ever to explore Cincinnati’s brewing history. Whether you’re on the trail itself or relaxing at home, the app offers a deep dive into the stories, images, and history of the city’s iconic breweries. It’s perfect for augmenting your guided tour experience or exploring at your own pace. Plus, the app will continue to grow, with more content planned for the future.

What Is the Brewing Heritage Trail?

For those unfamiliar with it, the Brewing Heritage Trail is a walking tour that explores Cincinnati’s deep roots in beer-making. Opened in 2019, the first section of the trail spans 3/4 of a mile and takes you through the historic Brewery District, past 19th and early 20th-century brewery sites, lagering cellars, and architectural marvels. The trail’s bronze medallions guide your path, and interpretive signage provides rich historical context, including stories of the brewmasters who helped shape the city.

The trail isn’t just a static walk—guided tours offer the chance to step inside historic brewery cellars, learn about the impact of Prohibition, and even enjoy a pint at the end of your journey. Whether you're walking on your own or joining a tour, the Brewing Heritage Trail is a perfect way to connect with Cincinnati’s brewing past in a fun and immersive way.

Fall is shaping up to be an exciting time for the Brewing Heritage Trail, with events that mix history, beer, and a little bit of spooky fun. Whether you’re raising a pint at FigLeaf Brewing Co., exploring Cincinnati’s haunted brewing past, or enjoying a cold one at BLINK, there’s plenty to look forward to. Don’t forget to download the new trail app to enhance your experience, and maybe even plan your next visit!

Hope to see you out on the trail—cheers to fall, fun, and Cincinnati brews!
