A Hall of Fame Feast

Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati’s Council Oak Steaks & Seafood has introduced new menu items honoring Reds Legend and Hall of Famer, Johnny Bench. At a recent event hosted by Bench and Property President Justin Wyborn, the restaurant revealed its new executive culinary team and two unique dishes inspired by Bench.

Josh Treadway, a former manager at Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment, is the new General Manager. The culinary team, led by Chef Mathew Polanka and Chef Clint Walker, has crafted the following dishes:

Johnny Bench’s Catch & Release: A 10-ounce Blackened Gulf Snapper representing Bench’s 10 Gold Glove Awards, topped with five royal red prawns, an apple-mango relish, and cilantro lime crema.

Johnny Bench’s Apple Caramel Funnel Cake: A funnel cake baseball glove featuring 14 syrup-poached apple bites representing Bench’s 14 All-Star Game appearances, served with vanilla bean ice cream, Crown Royale Apple Whiskey caramel sauce, and Cracker Jack streusel topping.

“We're extremely excited to have Johnny Bench here,” said Justin Wyborn. “He actually worked directly with our two incredibly talented chefs to create these dishes.” The two dishes are accompanied by signature drinks from the bar. “Dey in the Jungle” a twist on the traditional Mai Tai, Williams Smoked Old Fashioned and the Royal Oak just to name a few. Council Oak Steaks and Seafood lives up to its name with their Long Bone Ribeye, Bone In Ribeye and Prime New York Strip as well as numerous mouth watering appetizers and desserts. Some eye catching options is the crispy calamari, the raw bar with options for up to 25 people and the 14 layer chocolate cake. If you’re looking for something with a little more emphasis on the presentation, the Smoked Old Fashioned which is a bourbon pound cake, orange sherbet and cherry compote smoked under glass and served.

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, located inside Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, offers a luxury dining experience with wet and dry-aged prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and an extensive wine list. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday, with varying hours.

Johnny Bench, regarded as one of the greatest MLB catchers of all time, is a celebrated figure in baseball history. He played for the Cincinnati Reds and is known for his exceptional defensive skills and powerful hitting. Bench's accolades include 10 Gold Glove Awards and 14 All-Star Game appearances, making him a fitting inspiration for the new menu items at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood.
